Family-run guesthouse with free private parking in central Stratford-upon-Avon

Key details

Amenities & Parking

The Salamander Guest House provides free private on-site parking, a rare asset in central Stratford-upon-Avon that requires prior reservation. The Edwardian building underwent extensive renovation in May 2023 to modernise all facilities. Guests also have access to express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, and a shared lounge/TV area.

Rooms

All six rooms include en-suite shower facilities and have been fully renovated as of May 2023. Each room offers a tea/coffee maker with a selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits. Ground-floor family suites provide direct access from the parking area, and some rooms feature Netflix-capable TVs.

Location

The guesthouse overlooks The Firs Garden, a floral park, and sits within a 5- to 10-minute walk of Shakespeare's Birthplace, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and the Tudor World living history museum. Stratford-upon-Avon town centre and its restaurants are also within easy walking distance. The property is one of few central guesthouses offering free off-street parking.

Dining

Breakfast is not served on-site; instead, the guesthouse offers discount vouchers for a selection of nearby breakfast and brunch eateries within a 7-minute walk. One partner café, Boston Tea Party, provides a 20% discount to Salamander guests. These eateries offer a wide choice of menus catering to all tastes.

Guest Services

Hosts provide personalised local tips and a map upon arrival, helping guests navigate Stratford's attractions and dining options. Flexible check-in and check-out options are available upon request, along with private check-in/check-out. A communal dining area with a microwave, fridge, and kettle allows guests to prepare simple meals.
